Barbara L. Bailey, MSN, RN

Barbara L. Bailey, MS, RN, is Senior Faculty in the Center for Advanced Learning at The Institute for Palliative Medicine at San Diego Hospice, a teaching affiliate of the University of California, San Diego, School of Medicine.

Barbara has an extensive background as an educator and hospice clinician. She is particularly involved in the development and implementation of programs for passing students in vocational, associate, and bachelor degree programs.

Barbara received a Bachelors of Science in nursing degree from the College of St. Catherine, St. Paul, Minnesota in 1962. She subsequently earned a Master of Science degree as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Medical-Surgical Nursing from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor in 1965.

She is a certified Nurse Educator. She held several positions in college nursing faculties before joining the staff of The Institute for Palliative Medicine at San Diego Hospice. She has presented on the topic of clinical outcomes for nursing students in end of life care both nationally and internationally.
