Dr. Katherine (Katie) Morrison has been at San Diego Hospice and The Institute for Palliative Medicine for the past year as a Palliative Medicine Fellow and joined the medical staff in July.  She comes to San Diego from Denver, where she worked in Family Practice at Colorado Permanente Medical Group in East Denver.  Dr. Morrison’s interest in palliative care started after she began searching for a way to practice medicine that felt more healing for both herself and her patients.  Dr. Morrison earned her BS in Animal Physiology from UC Davis and her medical degree from UC San Francisco.  She completed her Family Practice Residency at Shadyside Family Practice Residency in Pittsburgh, PA.  She is a master birder certificate and just published a paper in the Colorado Field Ornithologists Society Journal.
