Mary Wheeler is an advanced practice certified hospice and palliative nurse with The Washington Home & Community Hospice in Washington, District of Columbia. In this position, she directs programs for both hospice and long term care.  She provides initial and ongoing staff education, nursing consultation on multiple patient care issues, and oversight of quality-of-care projects. Ms. Wheeler is the primary nurse educator for the IPM’s International Program.

Mary has participated in teaching, mentoring, program development and outcomes measurement in Jordan, Mongolia, Slovenia, Ukraine, Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Georgia. She has served as a trainer for the EPEC Project and the End-of-Life Nursing Education Consortium (ELNEC) Project.
