Maryrita Hillengas, BA

Maryrita Hillengas is currently the Coordinator, Education Programs at The Institute for Palliative Medicine at San Diego Hospice. Maryrita was the Administrative Assistant for the research department prior to her lateral move to the Education Programs Coordinator.  Maryrita has a strong medical background beginning in Rochester, New York, working at various hospitals and private medical offices as a medical secretary, radiation technology trainee and research abstractor.  Arriving in San Diego, Maryrita was employed with Apple One Temporary Services working at Kaiser Permanente as an Account Administration Representative.  In December of 1998, she was a Health Information Clerk for Scripps Mercy and in 2000 she was the Referrals Coordinator and Medical Records Clerk at Metro Family Physicians.

Maryrita received her Associate Degree of Science in Mechanical Technology from Monroe Community College in Rochester, New York.  She later attended State University of New York in Brockport, New York where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish.
